Tripura is the third smallest state in India and covers an area of 10,486 sq.km. It is multi racial and multi religious. The state has 19 tribes, and it is an eco-friendly and pollution-free state.In the year 1949, it became a part of independent India.

The languages that are mainly spoken in this state are Kokborok and Bengali.

North East India General Mission has planted churches among Mizos at Tripura. New Zealand Baptist Missionary Society worked among the Kukis. Tripura Baptist Christian Union was founded in 1939. Most Churches and Christians of all tribes are associated with this Union. The Baptists, Presbyterians and Catholics are the main denominations. Non-tribal attitude to Christianity and low literacy among the responsive tribes are the obstacles for the Church growth. Christian missions are putting their efforts on tribes. Educated recognize the definite difference in following Christ. Churches are growing in the midst of obstacles.

The most important indigenous people are Tripuris, Jamatias, Chakmas, Halams, Notias, and Riangs. Nepali, Oraon, Munda, and Santal are other groups. Christianity is received favorably particularly by the tribes.

  2. For the advancement of missionary work among Tribal people in the State done by Missionary Organizations.
  3. For the Believers to sincerely pray for a Revival in their State.
  4. For a unity among the believers of all Evangelical Churches in the State.
  5. For the believers to have a burden for the souls.
  6. For the believers to stand against all efforts of Satan, to divert the believers from following Jesus Christ, towards the world.
  7. For the welfare of all the poor, downtrodden, destitute and orphans and the organizations which work for the welfare of those people.
  8. First of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.(I Timothy 1:1-2)
  9. Pray for a lasting peace and health in the State.
  10. “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask (Pray to) the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field” – Jesus (Math:9:37-38)
